MACDONALD: More Fraud. Yes? More Fraud!

For many, it is difficult to imagine the scope of the ongoing fraud. Not just what we know was stolen recently, but in total. The sums are vast and well beyond the understanding of many. How could so many steal so much for so long and go unnoticed?

Even a mostly corruptocracy, eager to spend other people’s money, should have the sense to see the graft and scheming and put an end to it. I mean, a government that can never spend enough needs all the money it can for the things it spends it on.

Well, that’s just it. The bigger a government gets, the poorer the people become, increasingly trapped in a structure of declining values.

The Dems destroyed inner city life such that the only way many can see a path toward prosperity is through crime. And by prosperity, I mean something other than the subsistence trap which closes tighter as inflation and regulation push even that out of reach.

The Kleptocracy is merely following the example it created. If you want to get ahead, you cheat the system that you’ve been told feeds on the finances of people who didn’t earn them and don’t deserve them.

People in power make deals with oligarchs, crime syndicates, and fraudsters, who happily present reasonable appearing front men (and women) who repay the favor. Everyone’s dirty, and no one gains anything by ratting anyone else out.

The poor get poorer, the middle class disappears, and you end up with the two-state (typically) socialist ruling class with differs little from the days of monarchy.

It simply isn’t advisable to look for fraud as long as you’re winning.

This explains a lot of what we see in Minnesota and California. It is likewise mirrored in large blue cities, where the other side can win an election but can’t hope to get anything, given how the patronage system protects itself. One not limited to Democrat operations. Jack Kimbal won the NHGOP chairmanship, a job with no pay and very little prestige but enough power that the GOPe went out of its way to deny access to anything until they found a way to remove him, which they did.

It’s a human weakness but seen more often and on a larger scale on the left. California is a very large target, but I’d bet there’s some to be found in Texas, and not just Austin, or Dallas, or any other mostly blue enclave. But California has shown its corruption to be larger than the GDPs of most countries. It’s huge.

The Welfare, Medicare, Food Stamps, COVID money, and Medicaid fraud are not just eye-watering, but you’d have to be blind to miss it. And yet somehow, the rather significant bureaucratic state machine missed all if it (wink wink). A problem it is pretending to address as the Feds, led by VP Vance, come steamrolling in to make examples.

Violetta Mailyan, 45, of Glendale, was convicted of nine counts of wire fraud and three counts of obstruction of a criminal investigation of a healthcare offense.

Violetta was billing Medicaid in California for Botox injections. Keep in mind, there is no universal coverage. These can only be billed under a very narrow set of circumstances, but she billed for thousands of injections that were never provided. “ [F]or injections performed while she was out of town, including while she was on vacation in Cabo, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and New York, and on days her clinic was closed, the release said.”

Following her conviction, the jury determined that several assets were proceeds of fraud and subject to forfeiture, including a Tesla Model X, a Tesla Cybertruck, $251,124 across multiple bank accounts, brokerage accounts valued at $7,312,037, and four properties in Surfside and Glendale with a combined estimated equity of $7,343,636.

You paid for all of that, and while it’s nice to get about 15 million back, give or take, she is alleged to have scammed California and Medicaid out of 45 million in inappropriate charges.

I am not a fan of asset forfeiture, but this is clearly a situation where the assets need to be converted back into cash and returned to the US Treasury. Although I am curious what they plan to do with the 12,000.00 crossbow she is said to have purchased with your money?

Not a concern about Violetta, who will not be housed with transgender women in the California prison system. No, they’re not supposed to do that anymore, but this is California. They’ve got their principles, dammit, one of which has cost them 1.3 billion in Medicaid payments from the feds until they do something about this taxpayer-funded patronage system they’ve let get way out of hand.

And no, there is no immediate evidence that Violetta was donating to any political campaign, but I didn’t look very deeply. There may well have been bribes or kickbacks in play at the local level, I just don’t have time to hunt them down.
