At every opportunity, New Hampshire Democrats and the anti-gun lobby sell their corrupted wares under a banner that increasingly reads “New Hampshire blah blah blah support background checks.” This marketing strategy is meant to paint with a broad brush the idea that a lot of us agree on the need for background checks for firearm sales while selling the idea that whatever checks exist are flimsy, inadequate, or even non-existent; whatever scares the target audience the most.
The answer is more of them. More background checks. More! Now!
Well, we haven’t passed any of those laws the Democrats wanted but this ought to make them happy. New Hampshire performed 40% more background checks in 2016 than in 2014.
According to NHPR, there were 19% more background checks for firearm sales in New Hampshire in 2016 than in 2015
In 2015 we saw a 17% Increase over 2014.
If you crunch the actual numbers provided by the state police, New Hamshire processed 39.7% more background checks in 2016 than in 2014, all without adding a single piece of legislation ‘requiring’ more background checks.
Democrats should be ecstatic, right?
