SAU16/Exeter school district in New Hampshire has been going full force in their effort to indoctrinate students in WOKE ideology. Since they hired former Superintendent David Ryan, the district has been engulfed in pushing all of the WOKE ideology on students. Now that he’s left the district for SAU92/Hinsdale, there really hasn’t been any big changes. Under Esther Esbell parents continue to challenge the district on this so-called appreciation for diversity when it comes to religious students. Everyone has figured out by now that diversity never means an appreciation for religious or conservative viewpoints. That’s why it was so surprising to read in SeacoastOnline.com that SAU16 will meet the terms of the Trump administration so they don’t lose $5 million in federal funding.
SAU16, like many other school districts, are run by Superintendents who care more about pushing a radical viewpoint on students versus, teaching children a quality academic education. SAU16 parents went so far as to open a charter school in New Hampshire a few years ago. They made sure the Charter School eliminates WOKE ideology, respects the role of parents, and focuses on a quality academic education. I watched these parents invest their time, and money to open a new Charter School that, in the first year, had parents lining up to enroll their children.
SeacoastOnline.com reported that, “The Joint Board voted 21-4 on Monday to authorize the superintendent to sign the document by the April 24 deadline.” Does anyone actually believe this?
SAU16/Exeter continues to employ a Chief Equity Officer. Maybe SAU16’s administrators think we are all stupid?
The goal of DEI is equity. The theory of social equity comes from the author H. George Frederickson.
Equity means taking resources or materials, and redistributing them to groups so that there are equal outcomes. That’s why DEI disciples are so focused on identity now. Which group (or identity) will have to give something up so they can redistribute it to another group? This is generally done with a focus on race and sex. They break each student down to their identity to get children used to looking at each other by their characteristics. Are you the oppressor or are you the oppressed?
Equity is really about neo-socialism. Neo-Socialists use Neo-Marxist theory to create a redistribution system. But inequity is part of the human condition. Short people may never be able to play in the NBA. I can never play in the NFL. Equity, or equality of outcome cannot be done outside of tyranny. Someone would have to force me onto an NFL football team against the will of the NFL owners. Someone actually qualified to play in the NFL would be denied a position so that someone like me could take it even though I’m not able or qualified to play.
Ibram X Kendi was one of most vocal DEI advocates of equity. Kendi believes that DEI initiatives are essential for dismantling systemic racism and creating a more inclusive society. But in order to enact equity, you are gong to have to be unfair to another group. When you are unfair to another group, that’s racist. It’s racism in an effort to fix racism.
DEI is the same thing. Kendi focuses on anti-racism but the root of his beliefs are in Liberation Theology. At one time, SAU16 purchased books entitled, This Book is Anti-Racist, for middle school students. It was going to be a BIG dose of anti-racism forced on middle school students in the school district.
But this goes much deeper into religious beliefs. Kendi believed Jesus was a disrupter in an effort to save societies. He rejects savior theology which is what mainstream Christians believe. He says, “Antiracists fundamentally reject savior theology, which goes right in line with racist ideas and racist theology. . . . Jesus was a revolutionary and the job of the Christian is to revolutionize society. The job of the Christian is to liberate society from the powers on earth that are oppressing humanity . . . so that’s liberation theology in a nutshell.”
–Ibram X. Kendi
Those who teach Critical Race Theory at the university level have rejected Kendi’s anti-racist views. Watch this:
Kendi said that racism and capitalism are conjoined twins, but he happily made $20K an hour for the talks he’s given. Capitalism is good for him, but not others. Kendi, like other DEI disciples, worship the false god of Social Justice. They worship the gospel of material equity.
What did SeacoastOnline.com report about SAU16/Exeter’s DEI Director?
**Polletta co-founded the Liberation Learning Collective, which provides diversity, equity, inclusion and justice educational consulting across New England.
**Polletta’s educational credentials include an education specialist degree in social justice education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
**Her experience at UMass Amherst includes facilitating student-led initiatives for underrepresented students and supporting the Center for Racial Justice and Youth Engaged Research.
There is more to this subject, but with even this much information, many inside and outside the district are not buying into any of what they are selling. They may change the words from anti-racist, to anti-discrimination, or scrub their website so the unsuspecting will not notice their commitment to this WOKE ideology, but those of us who’ve been dealing with this district know where their focus lies. They continue to worship at the alter of their WOKE ideology, and now they are going to try to sell that to the Federal Government.
It wasn’t that long ago that all of these teachers around New Hampshire put forward a public statement that they will teach CRT even if it’s against the law. Some of them worked in SAU16.
To anyone who sees DEI in action in their school districts, please inform me so I can shed some light on that here. You can also report that directly to the federal government here.
