It is impressive how marketing carefully chooses words to mask a situation and give it a positive spin. One of my all-time favorites is Reproductive Rights. It sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? In the case of women, Reproductive Rights must involve protecting a female to decide to become pregnant and have children on their terms and without government intervention. You would think that by the name, but you could not be more wrong. Reproductive Rights involve making sure a woman has the right and access to services to terminate an unwanted pregnancy and kill the fetus by having an abortion. It appears in this scenario that the unborn fetus has no say or right to be born and live a full life.
Progressive is another such word, especially in the political arena. Being “Progressive” sounds like you are committed to improving things for people and moving forward, but you would again be wrong. Progressive defines a person who is Radical in their thinking and beliefs. In this case, Progressive means you are a far-left-thinking Democrat hedging more towards Communists and Socialists than a member of a.Constitutional Republic. Progressives do not embrace the values and vision of our forefathers and are, in fact, disgusted with our history. They believe America was built on the backs of slave labor and should be returned to its rightful owners or reparations be paid instead.
The Progressive wing of the Democrat party is small in numbers but incredibly large in influence. An example would be the Progressive’s disdain for Israel. Many in the Progressive wing deny the assault by Hamas on Israel last October and see Israel as the aggressor in the current conflict. They see Hamas and the people of Gaza as the victims and not the perpetrators.
The squad, started by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, plays an integral role in the Progressive Left, and with control of some of the most prominent swing states, namely Michigan and Minnesota, it will significantly influence the election. For Kamala Harris to win these critical swing states, she must placate the Left and temper Democrat support for Israel. Harris will also need to continue with the destruction of all borders and the defunding of Police. Many of the radical Left’s ideas are anti-America, and candidates who want the support of and the votes from these states controlled by the Progressives need to adopt the platforms. This bending of the knee to Progressives creates a chameleon effect for the candidate if running nationally and is one of the elements that will destroy the Kamala Harris run for the White House.
If you cannot develop a moderate platform that works well in Iowa and Minnesota, then you must defend your seemingly opposite views on key issues like the border, economy, and abortion. When you cannot defend your views, you run a campaign of avoidance. You minimize your contact with the media and answer a few, if any, questions. This is what Biden did with his basement campaign in 2020, and it appears that Harris will use Biden’s playbook. You let the media gaslight the public that you are the savior of Democracy and the only person who can put down the existential threat that is Donald Trump.
We are into week 3 of the Harris coup/candidacy, and she has yet to field a question from the media. This honeymoon from reality cannot last long. If there is no immediate change in the relationship between Harris and the protective media, Trump will have to force Harris onto the debate stage. She proved in 2020 and every interview as Vice President that she is incapable of thinking on the fly, and thus, she resorts to word salad answers that sound intelligent but are meaningless. Trump has to start calm, avoid personal attacks, and hammer Harris on the results of the Biden/Harris term and her lack of any better vision for the future. It is time to take off the gloves and destroy the facade that is Kamala Harris.
