By now you’ve probably heard about the insanity that happened in Minnesota last night. I caught the video. It’s repugnant, frightening, and sad. I’ll admit I’m leaning towards the victim’s side of the story right now because it just looked so insane, but I’ll withhold my full judgment until I can process more information. But it doesn’t look good. It looks… insane.
With that said, don’t look now, but I’m going to recommend you head over to ThinkProgress and read this piece. It’s good. It’s scary. And small government and 2nd Amendment folks would appreciate it. They will recognize arbitrary abuse of the state (local too) responding to political incentives (like treating traffic tickets as “slot machines”) Odd that it’s at ThinkProgress. They’re Big Gov. (in size, breadth and scope). That old cliché about the stopped clock being Right twice a day comes to mind.
