This is just a piece but it gives you the flavor of what the next five months will be like, and I’m just not talking about Trump “running” for President. I refer to the beating the press is going to get before the eyes of an American public that has a truly inadequate sense of just how corrupt and biased major media is in America.
Trump, like him or not, is exposing their rampant hypocrisy. A state that has existed for decades that many will have missed or ignored because most, if not all, Republicans, lack the stones to take them on face-to-face, day-in, and day-out. But thanks to The Donald, the institutional imbalance will become a daily item on the media menu because as much as he exposes them they can’t stop covering him.

MAJOR GARRETT: Don’t you believe you should be accountable to the people?
TRUMP: I’m totally accountable, but I didn’t want to have credit for it. We have given to groups that are unbelievable groups, and honestly, I wish you could hear the phone calls and see the letters, they are so happy. And I’m happy to do it. I didn’t want the credit for it, but it was very unfair that the press treated us so badly. Go ahead.
MAJOR GARRETT: To follow up on that, you keep calling us the dishonest press, the disgusting press.
TRUMP: Generally speaking, that’s a hundred percent true. Go ahead.
MAJOR GARRETT: I disagree with that, sir. And if I can ask you this question, it seems as though you’re resistant to scrutiny, the kind of scrutiny that comes with running for president of the United States.
TRUMP: Excuse me. I’ve watched you on television. You’re a real beauty. When I raise money for the veterans, and it’s a massive amount of money, find out how much Hillary Clinton’s given to the veterans. Nothing.
All Mr. trump has to do is ask, where is this level of scrutiny on Hillary or Bernie? Why aren’t you asking them these questions or these sorts of questions? Why don’t you tell us how much they donated to this or that or spent on this or that? Where is the balance? There is none. There has never been any effort at balance and Trump is not afraid to point that out and lay blame.
A few recent examples off the top of my head, and no, I don’t know if Trump has mentioned these or not.
Where are the media’s forensic accountants when it comes to the Clinton Global Graft Initiative, all their foreign investors, the coincidental advantages provided by the US State Department under Hillary Clinton after Bill gives a speech for some insane speaking fee? (They’re not only not interested, they are on staff to ignore, hide or rebut anything that does leak out.)
Benghazi, email-gate, pick a Clinton scandal, and where there is a Clinton there are scandals; the media has little or no interest in reporting anything other than the narratives invented for them by Media Matters, Democracy Now, MoveOn.org, or the New York Times Editorial board.
Bernie’s wife mismanaged and BANKRUPTED an entire college, forced it to go out of business, yet the only serious coverage was in what is disdainfully referred to as right-wing media. It wasn’t the talk of the cable news stations even though her husband has promised to fund every college education with taxpayer dollars. Not only did the media ignore the bankruptcy, they never considered the quid-pro-quo of a presidential initiative designed to hide mismanagement at any and every college. No stories about his ties to Big Education? No side-stories about how government intervention in student loans is driving up tuition rates? Nothing.
This applies to every Democrat or protected progressive group or person, none of whom will be subjected to even an ounce of the same sort of scrutiny or coverage as their political opponents; unless they dare wander from the Democrat plantation, then the media will hobble them in a heartbeat.
But Trump is going to take the media to task every day, and the more they try to corner him the more opportunity he has to corner them. And he will. He’ll challenge them, be energetic, fearless, and interesting – everything Hillary Clinton is not.
There isn’t enough popcorn in the world for this.
Strap yourselves in. It is going to be glorious.
