You Keep Crossing the Aisle…Why Not Bring Something Useful Back?

Chuck Schumer was at the forefront of Democrat resistance to any more Supreme Court nominees by President Bush in the last year of his second term in office.

“New York Sen. Charles E. Schumer, a powerful member of the Democratic leadership, said Friday the Senate should not confirm another U.S. Supreme Court nominee under President Bush…”

Back in 1960 (H/T to William Anderson c/o Facebook),

“…the Democrat-controlled Senate passed a resolution, S.RES. 334, “Expressing the sense of the Senate that the president should not make recess appointments to the Supreme Court, except to prevent or end a breakdown in the administration of the Court’s business.”

While I am inclined to stick with my own prediction – the Republican Senate will cave – there is plenty of political debris available to build a wall of separation between Obama and another Supreme Court nominee.
