Fruitvale Man Arrested For Pointing a Banana At Officer Bunch

Hey, You want a piece of this! (Yes, on my cereal please)

No, those are not stream-of-consciousness lyrics, that is a suitable headline  for this very real story.

Nathan Rolf Channing, 27, (Fruitvale, Colorado) was arrested Sunday, according to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel.

According to an arrest affidavit, Mesa County deputies Joshua Bunch and Donald Love said Channing pointed the fruit at them while crossing a street.

The deputies said they feared for their lives even though they saw that the object was yellow. Bunch wrote in the affidavit that he has seen handguns in many shapes and colors.

Pointing things at the police is far from brilliant, as the C-BS story points out, but I have to ask– if he had pointed his banana at female officers would he have also been charged with sexual assault?

Seriously…
