Having just won her primary a few days ago Marilinda Garcia has already done something no Democrat woman elected to Federal office from New Hampshire have done, at least in recent memory. She is holding a…..(dramatic crescendo!) Town hall meeting.
Her opponent Ann ‘Where is Benghazi?’ Kuster, is invited to take questions along-side Garcia, but has not–as yet–responded to the invitation.
I’d be very surprised to see Kuster accept… Even if she thought the Democrats could stuff an open forum with bitter left wing trolls to shout down her opponent, Kuster would still have to risk answering an actual question from someone who is not there to throw her softballs.
It is also not in their nature of our Democrat women to subject themselves to the petty grievances of their subjects, even without a Republican opponent across the stage. Kuster will ignore it in favor of some media friendly debate where she will have a better chance of not having to answer to actual voters from her district.
My suggestion is that Garcia set up the second podium, and then talk to it the way Clint Eastwood spoke to the ‘Empty chair’ and RNC convention because that is what Kuster is. An Empty chair.
