Merrimack based lawyer Dan Hynes declared his intention to seek the GOP nomination for the District 11 State Senate seat today. Hynes, 33, a liberty activist and small business owner, cited the increase in spending and pressure on small businesses coming from Concord as his main motivation for running.

“Our state is at a critical point economically. New Hampshire businesses can’t afford higher taxes and more cumbersome regulations — and the people of New Hampshire can’t afford to lose more jobs as a result of the business exodus these regulations cause.”

Other issues which Hynes plans to focus on as State Senator include; protection of privacy rights, a sustainably balanced budget, and an educational system which focuses on quality, and values the role of the family in a child’s education.

Hynes has also pledged $25,000 of his own money to his campaign, as well as hiring Nick Zaricki, 2012 Campaign Manager for Josh Youssef and former Ray Burton intern, to oversee his campaign. A primary is expected.
