There are other factors which impact the exchange of skills or labor for compensation. People who do dangerous jobs tend to make more than people who don’t regadless of gender. But this is one of many reasons why the average man makes more per year than the average woman. Men have alway been more likely to exchange risk (time, distance) for income, and there are a lot more of them doing it than women, even in the 21st century. That alone is going to tip the averages.
So if equality is such a big deal, sans any other relevant real world factors, when is the equality party going to start mandating Occupational injury equality? If they can make me pay for mammograms, abortions, and birth control, why can’t they make women work more dangerous jobs as part of their quest to litigiate into existence wage parity with men?
You don’t need to feed your lawyer buddies (see also major donors) with complicated lawsuit bait, just mandate occupational equality and the wage thing will take care of itself.
Every year the National Committee on Pay Equity (NCPE) publicizes its “Equal Pay Day” to bring public attention to the gender pay gap. “Equal Pay Day” this year fell on April 9, and represents how far into 2013 the average woman had to continue working to earn the same income that the average man earned last year. Inspired by Equal Pay Day, I introduced “Equal Occupational Fatality Day” in 2010 to bring public attention to the huge gender disparity in work-related deaths every year in the United States. “Equal Occupational Fatality Day” tells us how many years into the future women would have to work before they would experience the same number of occupational fatalities that occurred in the previous year for men.

Based on the new BLS data, the next “Equal Occupational Fatality Day” will occur more than ten years from now – on December 20, 2023. That date symbolizes how far into the future women will be able to continue working before they experience the same loss of life that men experienced in 2012 from work-related deaths.
Sure, there are some risks, but the financial reward will erase the Democrat meme disparity in incomes based on gender.

I bet if we did the math that whole disingenuous left-wing 0.77 cents on the dollar meme evaporates on its way to a significant bottom line female advantage after factoring in the cost inequality of being male.
Or maybe they could just be more honest about it instead of axe-grinding on a deceptive populist grindstone that rests on the pile of men who have died in the course of performing higher paying jobs women didn’t want in the first place.
I know, I know. you’re new caveat is that you are talking about equal pay for the same job, skills, education. but you never actually say that when you bring it up. You only say that if challenged, and only then–if you must.
That’s what we call an honesty gap. The Democrat party has a HUGE honesty gap, and every issue just makes that gap wider.
