No surprised. Cindy Rosenwald’s amendment to add Medicaid Expansion without hearings or debate passed the NH House 186-155.
I suspect that there were people registered as Republican that voted with the majority, but these would be the usual suspects. The R’s who vote with Democrats most of the time anyway.
Now it is on the Republican Senate where this had better die a quick and painless death.
I will make time to support good candidates, anywhere in the state, who primary any Senate Republican that votes for this or any similar expansion of Medicaid in New Hampshire. This is a trap. It will not improve health outcomes. It will cost us millions, and let’s fact it; Democrats want to drink the Medic-Ade bad enough to tack it onto a bill so they don’t have to listen to public opposition and risk having it fail in the chamber they have a majority in.
That makes this one piece of crappy legislation and guarantees that it is bad for New Hampshire.
