While Democrats and their anti-self defense cabal used the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary to advance their own ridiculous and destructive political agenda, actual people in Newtown Connecticut grasped reality by the gonads.
The police cannot nor have they any obligation to protect anyone, and there will always be nut jobs who find a way around any system to cause chaos and do others harm. The best possible deterrent is to accept your role in the citizen militia, to arm yourself in the defense of your property, family, friends, neighbors, and citizenry, and to be the armed, law-abiding citizen so no one has to wait (30 minutes or more?) for the people with the guns to arrive.
Connecticut as a state has also seen a surge in requests for gun permits in the wake of that tragedy. While Democrat legislators were pandering to their backwards agenda, and doing everything they could to disarm the populace and run gun manufactures (and jobs) out of the state, residents submitted over 18,000 new requests for gun licenses, a 78% increase.
