Happy Pi Day – 2018

It’s March 14th, which means it’s 3-14, which means it is 3.14159…Pi Day!

Pi (?) is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Pi is a constant number, meaning that for all circles of any size, Pi will be the same.

The diameter of a circle is the distance from edge to edge, measuring straight through the center. The circumference of a circle is the distance around.

And one of the first Limericks I ever memorized was about Pi.

Not that, you filthy (like) minded fools. This.

If, in a circle, a line.
Hits the center and runs spine to spine,
And the lines length is D
The circumference will be D times 3.14159

Don’t say you never learn anything valuable at GraniteGrok.

And in case you forgot or tried to forget, today is also National Potato Chip Day.
