Keene State Announces 5.5 Million Dollar Deficit – Guess Why?

It takes the Keene Sentinel 12 paragraphs to explain why the State college has a 5.5 million dollar hole in its budget this year.

Ricaurte attributed the drop in revenue to lower-than-expected enrollment numbers, which she said are down a projected 9 percent for the current academic year.

Fewer first-year students. That sounds familiar.

I wonder if they’ve considered blaming the Pumpkin Festival people for that too?
