Getting it Right on the “Nuclear Option”

Democrats will insist that changing the filibuster rules in the US Senate was to stop obstruction.  Not so.  Not even close.

This has nothing to do with holding up nominations to sit empty court rooms with missing judges.   There are always scores of those waiting to be addressed under every president.

This is about Reid helping Obama add additional liberal judges to the DC Circuit court, guaranteeing a policy advantage in perpetuity.    Obama and Democrats want to create new seats to fill with liberal appointees in the DC District circuit.  Republicans are against that.

Obstruction, if any,  is against the Democrats tyrannical power grab so that the progressives can run to the fully stacked DC circuit court to get whatever policy prescription they desire, bypassing congress completely.
