Obamacare is the largest tax increase in American history; taxes that will kill jobs and destroy our economy. Did you know that Religious Objectors, Illegal Aliens, Prisoners, Members of Indian Tribes, Hardship Cases (determined by HHS) and those earning less than the poverty line are exempt from these taxes?
- How do we expect to maintain service levels while giving 30 million plus people most of which choose not to be insured free healthcare?
- How can the government provide these services on the backs of tax payers and not see a negative impact both on the system and the economy?
You don’t need to be some well-to-do economic genius to see that this is a bad idea.
Let’s start with the mandates or better yet the income surtaxes: An adult will be taxed 2.5% of his or her adjusted gross income and we will be penalized with if we do not comply with the mandate to have health insurance. That alone makes this legislation illegal and warrant repeal.
How about the quality of service we will see when 40% of the medical doctors leave the profession due to the monetary constraints and piles of red tape that come with this monstrosity? That’s a recipe for…
…disaster when we are already facing a shortage of 150K doctors over the next 15 years according to the Association of American Medical Colleges.
- What about the waiting lists we will see due to the rationing of care?
- What about the $500 Billion in Medicare cuts that will leave most of our seniors in the dust in order to pay for those who are exempt?
This law needs to go away and it needs to go away fast.
Next week, the first order of business our newly elected Congress is to vote on the repeal of this destructive legislation. This will be the first of many steps that will be required and it will need even more of a push from the grassroots movement to demand our representatives to fully repeal it (in parts, if necessary, and in whole if possible). We don’t want to hear “I like this part of the bill” or “that part”; we want full repeal. If we can’t get a full repeal (Senate says “No” or Presidential veto is applied), the next step should be for Congress to tighten those purse strings and completely cut off the funding until we can throw Obama and the rest of the Progressives out of office. I want to see a hardnosed “take no prisoners” kind of tactics from my legislators. It’s no secret that the Left takes pride in the potential of America becoming a Socialist country so it is up to us as Freedom loving Americans to stop it.
On a side note:
My wife and I rushed our daughter to the ER last week. It was very scary; she wasn’t swallowing and appeared lethargic at times. We were concerned that she had swallowed something that had somehow got stuck. We get her into the ER, got her checked in and in front of a doctor, two nurses and an X-Ray tech in barely 15 minutes. I looked around the room while my daughter was getting examined and noticed the numerous gadgets, medical equipment and highly trained medical professionals buzzing around. Then I started to think back at the care my wife had received when my daughter was born. My stomach started to turn because I then started to think about what a Government run health care system would look like for me and my family. I then thought about the “Miracle of birth” scene from Monty Pythons: The Meaning of Life. It’s a funny clip however it sparks a serious question. If we get stuck with Obamacare who will get the machine that goes “Ping”?
