13 Questions for Colin and Becky

President Joe Biden seldom takes any questions. That frustrates reporters, pundits, allies, and voters. It is what it is. And it’s unfortunate. But whenever Biden speaks, voters are reminded of his diminishing mental competency.

There is no way he’ll debate anyone this fall. But Dems are in lockstep behind his candidacy, apparently expecting him to beat Donald Trump to position the ultra-liberal Kamala Harris to become our 47th president. (Her many inane statements are not due to age but to incompetence.)

This brings us to the Democratic frontrunners for New Hampshire’s open Congressional District Two seat, Colin Van Ostern and Becky Whitley. Colin is 46, and Becky is 44. They are presumably pretty sharp and don’t need to hide signs of cognitive impairment. Would they answer questions? (With accompanying comments in italics.)

1. Do you support sanctuary cites in N.H.?
(Democrat gubernatorial candidates Joyce Craig and Cincy Warmington refuse to answer this simple question, knowing that a truthful answer dooms their candidacies.)

2. Do you agree with the majority of Americans who favor restricting late-term abortions of viable fetuses?
(A Harvard-Harris national poll indicated that 73% of Americans would limit horrific late-term abortions.)

3. Do you support biological boys playing on girls’ sports teams?
(Polls show over 70% of Americans oppose.)

4. Do you think Democrats should pick your Republican opponent?
(In 2022, Democrat Political Action Committees spent large sums to successfully position Bob Burns as Annie Kuster’s CD2 opponent. Kuster easily beat Burns by 12 percentage points.)

5. Do you feel important positions should be filled based more on competence or on identity politics?
(In 2020, Joe Biden committed to choosing a woman of color as a running mate, thus eliminating almost 95% of potential vice presidents based on race and gender.)

6. Do you agree with Democratic New Hampshire legislators who seek to restrict school choice and take away Education Freedom Accounts from poorer families?
(Numerous Democrat-sponsored measures in Concord have sought to do exactly that.)

7. Do you support illegal aliens/undocumented migrants getting driver’s licenses and thus voting rights?
(The Democrat-controlled N.H. House overwhelmingly supported HB397 in 2019, which would have done exactly that.)

8. Would you share specific recommendations for entitlement reform?
(Social Security will be insolvent in less than ten years.)

9. Do you agree with Democrats who say that human-induced climate change is an “existential threat” warranting carbon taxes and restrictions on gas powered vehicles?
(President Biden has often said that climate change poses a greater threat than nuclear war.)

10. Will you accept campaign money from sources hostile to Israel?
(Such as from George Soros or the Council for the National Interest.)

11. Do you agree with those who assign some blame for the current military recruiting crisis to Biden Department of Defense policies emphasizing DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and who say that this recruiting crisis impacts national security?
(Our Army and Navy are falling way short of recruiting goals.)

12. Most experts agree that our current deficit spending is unsustainable. Can you share specific proposals to address the spending crisis?
(The federal deficit for 2023 was almost $2 trillion. Our deficit spending now approximates a quarter trillion dollars a month. 16% of total federal spending now goes to service the debt.)

13. Do you agree with economists who blame the current high inflation rate on excessive government spending?
(Economics 101 teaches that if money supply grows too big relative to the size of an economy, then purchasing power decreases accordingly.)

So, there are 13 straightforward questions for your consideration. Granite State voters would surely appreciate answers. Similar questions will also be directed to other candidates from both parties.

As Henry David Thoreau once said, “The greatest compliment that was ever paid me was when someone asked me what I thought.”
