A 41-year-old pizza delivery driver from Imo’s told St. Louis police he was making food delivery when two men tried to rob him Thursday night, KTVI-TV reported. One of the suspects hit the driver in the head with a gun, the station said. When the victim ran back to his vehicle, KTVI said the same suspect began shooting at him, but the driver had his own gun and returned fire.
One of the suspects — 17-year-old Lavon Courtney Jr. — was fatally shot, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported, adding that the second suspect apparently fled on foot. The victim — who sustained a cut on his head and wasn’t hit by any bullets — returned to work where he called police, KTVI said. He also turned his gun over to police so they can further investigate the incident, the station reported, adding that police believe his actions were justified.
Decisions have consequences – Courtney got his the hard way. I’m betting that he committed this assault never thinking that his victim would actually fight back with deadly force. Good.
