I attended my son’s kindergarten open house Monday night. We are in the Governor Wentworth Regional School District. My wife and I do not want to send him because we are against masks being mandatory in school. (The school board voted to make them mandatory at their last meeting.)
However, our son begged us to let him go to kindergarten with his friends, so we figured we would try the open house and see how it went.
Of course, they were handing out masks at the front door when we arrived. We walked in, and the first thing we saw that we disagreed with was the “lunchroom.” They had single desks set up, 6 feet apart. My son said to us, “So I can’t sit with anyone at lunch?” Then we entered the classroom, again with desks all spread out. He asked again, “I can’t sit near any of my friends?”
We were in there a total of 15 minutes, and within that 15 minutes, my 5-year-old son, who begged us to go to school, said, “I guess I don’t want to go to school if I can’t sit near my friends.”
This is disgusting and inhumane! My 5-year-old has more brains than the school board! They are destroying these kids!
