Is Tokyo Disney The Most “Vaccinated” Place on Earth?

Tokyo Disneyland

If you were wondering how much your health is worth, ask the folks going to Disney World in Tokyo, Japan. The theme park is offering vaccinated guests discounts if they provide proof they’ve been Jabbed.

“…a new “discount” has been issued that is only available to “fully-vaccinated” Guests (both domestic and international) in order to boost of vaccinations in the Land of the Rising Sun. Called the “Event Wakuwari Discount” program, a special 20% discount will be available on 1-day ticked.

Vaccinated Guests can save 20% on one-day Passports valid from October 13, 2022, to January 31

That’s the story, as I find it, and the source link used by GP makes the same claims. You get a 20% discount if you’ve received a COVID-19 vaccine and can prove it, but I have questions.

If you read the story, it also says this.

Vaccinated Guests with disabilities and one accompanying person can purchase one-day Passports at the following rate:

Adult: 5,200 yen / 5,440 yen / 5,680 yen / 5,920 yen
Junior: 4,240 yen / 4,480 yen / 4,720 yen / 4,960 yen
Child: 3,040 yen / 3,200 yen / 3,360 yen / 3,520 yen

In order to access the special discount, Guests must provide the following:

Vaccination record (3rd vaccination completed)
PCR test negative certificate (using samples collected within 3 days before admission)
Antigen quantitative test negative certificate (collected within 3 days before admission) using the specimen)
Antigen qualitative test negative certificate (using a specimen collected within 1 day before admission)

The last three qualifications detect, if poorly in many cases, the presence of the actual virus (or so they claim), not if you’ve been vaccinated. So, how can anyone claim the discounts are restricted to the vaccinated when it appears as if they are (in fact) available to anyone who can prove they have been jabbed or passed a COVID test?

The entire idea is absurd on its face and in-depth.

It appears (and maybe I’m wrong) that the goal is to ensure the park is as COVID-free as possible. But if you’ve passed the lousy test, you may or may not have COVID. If you’ve been jabbed, you should have to take the test (but don’t) because you are more likely than the unvaccinated to have COVID.

Tokyo Disney, in other words, is not the happiest or most vaccinated place on earth. It is the stupidest place on earth.
