Kelly Ayotte comes out for the Obamacare of energy policy? Her standard for "bipartisanship"? - Granite Grok

Kelly Ayotte comes out for the Obamacare of energy policy? Her standard for “bipartisanship”?

Washington-Aquarium-KellyOr protecting her political posterior? And flushing her campaign chest while flushing the whole idea of limited government?  After all, if Obamacare was the biggest Govt grab in the healthcare market, the out of control EPA’s Clean Power Act (“don’t breath – you’ll exhale CO2”) is worse – under the guise of Global Warming and CO2 control, the EPA is really out to take control of the energy sector just as they are transforming the relationship of patients & doctors to be under the thumb of bureaucrats thousands of miles away.

This is the vision of American that Kelly Ayotte is embracing – an all powerful Executive Branch?  She already caved on Congress’ Congressional power of the Purse (“We CAN’T shut down the Feds – I’ll have a fainting spell!”) and now she is all willing, under the guise of “working across the aisle”.

Well listen, Kelly, throwing away your Constitutional responsibility is not “bipartisanship” nor “reaching across the aisle” – this is an abdication of your responsibility to MAKE LAW – NOT what we sent you to DC to do.  Instead, with your support, you have nodded your support to the Progressive end state – rule by the Administrative State.  Congrats – you have edged that next incremental step to making Congress that much more irrelevant.  This is not, as you are wont to say “Common Sense” – this is just you trying to copy Scott Brown.  How’d that work out for him, eh?

Remember him trying to “Out-abortion Jeanne Shaheen”?  Yeah that worked out so well with Republicans.  Now, you want to “Out-EPA Maggie Hassan” to burnish your non-existent cred in the Green area?  After all we’ve written about Watermelon Environmentalists?  Heck, you don’t even rise to that level of socialism – this is about grabbing onto a Green life-jacket (see below).

You really think that this is a Conservative (heck, even a Republican) Principle? ESPECIALLY with the just ginormous amount of Power you are willing cede to the EPA with this power grab?  Just for the sake of “consensus” and a campaign issue?  This is what you campaigned on for your present term – allowing Obama even MORE power?   I do remember you campaigning on stopping Obama – congrats, Kelly, you just didn’t bother to grease his skids, you just put him on maglev rails.

Are you really freakin’ serious?  From the post (emphasis mine, reformatted):

Vulnerable GOP senator backs Obama’s climate rule

A Republican senator facing a tough reelection fight is supporting President Obama’s signature climate change rule. Sen. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.) came out in support late Sunday of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulation that seeks a 32 percent cut in the power sector’s carbon dioxide emissions.

Ayotte, who faces a tough reelection bid in a state that voted for President Obama in the last two presidential cycles, is the first congressional Republican to openly endorse the rule, dubbed the Clean Power Plan.

That’s because almost every other Republican understands, at least in part, that this is just giving the Obama snowball yet another shove down the hill.  I’m QUITE sure that Obama is rejoicing about this turn – a “rising Republican star” is now approving of enhancing his power.  Oh, your base should be enthralled with this – after poll after poll has said that your base has said to STOP him.

“After carefully reviewing this plan and talking with members of our business community, environmental groups, and other stakeholders, I have decided to support the Clean Power Plan to address climate change through clean energy solutions that will protect our environment,” Ayotte said in a statement.

Guess she hasn’t listened to Gina McCarthy, EPA Head, that had to admit that with trillions of dollars of higher costs and taxes, the actual result of all this will be measured in the thousandths of a degree difference by 2100.

BTW, Kelly – for a state such as ours, NH, where the majority of people heat with fossil fuels with electrically powered heaters, how’s that gonna work out with plant after plant being taken out and the temps go to -30?  And rolling blackouts start in as the safety margins all but disappear?  And if businesses are already complaining about electrical costs here in NH, how are you going to explain to them that you personally approved of their heightened bills (and those of the poor)?

But here’s the kicker – la raison d’etre:

New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan is seeking the Democratic nomination to face Ayotte and would be seen as a top-notch challenger. She’s already attacked Ayotte on climate, signaling she intends to make it an issue in the race.

Hassan on Friday called for the state’s congressional delegation to support the climate plan. She accused Ayotte of siding “with corporate special interests over New Hampshire’s environment,” arguing the senator had fought to protect tax breaks for oil companies and voted to block the EPA from moving forward with regulations to reduce carbon emissions.

Ayup, there it is.  Sure, voting for the EPA grab may be a good political move to take the issue off the table, but not to worry, Kelly – if the Dems can accuse Romney of murder, not paying his taxes, dog abuse and not caring about the little people, trust me, all you have done is start the process of letting them lead you around by the nose on issue after issue.  What’s the next issue that you’ll cave on simply to keep your seat theah?

We all know that having Progressives in charge of our energy means they will have control of our lives.  We in the base want someone that will FIGHT for us – not lay down.  Simply signing on to the façade that Obama keeps saying (“American must lead – then other countries will HAVE to follow us MORALLY”) doesn’t make it happen (and all the Green Watermelons want is not saving the planet but pure crass political control – class warfare by other means and you’re showing us you’re agreeing with it).

And then there’s the money to be had:

In July, Ayotte was the first recipient of a donation from Jay Faison, a Republican who has pledged to donate money in the 2016 election to encourage the GOP to recognize climate change and endorse conservative solutions to it. Faison donated $500,000 to a super-PAC benefitting Ayotte.

Er, Kelly, does “conservative solutions” mean turning it all over to the Feds? Is this going to be yet another “fake” marketplace totally ginned up by Government, regulated by Government, and forcing the rest of us to participate in it (or be subject to more taxes for doing nothing)?  And is half a mil just an entry price?

NextGen Climate, the super-PAC run by billionaire environmental activist Tom Steyer, welcomed Ayotte’s position but pushed her to do more. “Sen. Kelly Ayotte today recognized a simple political fact: New Hampshire voters overwhelmingly support policies like the Clean Power Plan that save lives, lower energy costs and address climate change,” Mike Padmore, the New Hampshire director for the group, said in a statement.

I heard similar things about Obamacare – and that ISN’T working out for us at all.  You want to repeat all that?  And is uber-Democrat supporter Steyer somebody that you want to deal with?  If you are going to do that, TELL me why *I*, as a member of the Republican conservative base here in NH, should support you when you not violate a limited government principle?

“Now it’s time for Sen. Ayotte to show that she truly supports America’s clean energy future and commit to achieving more than 50 percent clean energy by 2030,” he said, repeating a challenge Steyer has made to all political candidates in the 2016 cycle.

Yeah, and if you look to Europe, all of those countries are starting to realize that they have saddled their subjects with high energy bills with their support of “green energy”.

Thanks, Kelly, for letting us know that in one of the most important areas, you have decided that Government should be making decisions for me that I should be making for myself in what should be a free marketplace.  Instead, you make the possibility of me making those decisions further and further away from me.

For this, I declare now that I will not vote for you.  Period  You have now repudiated all that you campaigned on.  I cannot trust your votes; trust me, my vote is now not yours.

Remember this?

US Senate – John Langdon.  Currently, he is domiciled in NH and for a long time, hasn’t even left the state (not even for travel purposes).  He is well past 30 years of age and there is no qualms about him being a US citizen.  He also has had much experience in politics, even to holding several state wide offices.  He also, starting at a very young age, forged a very successful business career.  His devotion to Liberty and Freedom is unparalleled and unimpeachable.  Anyone who knows about anything about him would easily grant him the moniker of “Patriot”. He was a patriot and that is what we need in NH
