but have no problem in spending someone else’s money. All one has to do is just look at Obama and Biden’s tax returns as to their diminutive sense of "personal charity and morality" as Obama grandly proclaims "I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper. And in the wealthiest nation in the world right now we are neglecting to live up to that call."

This goes for both Democrats and Republicans that believe that the "common good" or the "public good" should always trump that of the hard working individuals that earn the money that funds their "great ideas". While it makes Progressives "feel good about themselves", the real danger is that they don’t ever want to experiment on only themselves, but demand to drag the rest of us with them.
Often, they are the first to decry privacy intrusions and demand that only those that decide to opt-in be included in such programs. Problem is, they don’t even offer us, who believe that their programs are fruit-loops at best and dangerous at worse, the ability to opt-out. Hypocrites!
Back to Cap ‘N Tax, where Statists (that don’t believe NOAA’s number that show global warming has stagnated), that we ALL have to be "opt’d-in" do believe that they have the moral imperative to compel the rest of us to forced in paying for their folly. They truly believe that they can solve a non-existent problem simply by giving lots of our money to Government (essentially, nothing more than the largest revenue stream for Big Government EVAH).

The hit to GDP is the real threat in this bill. The whole point of cap and trade is to hike the price of electricity and gas so that Americans will use less. These higher prices will show up not just in electricity bills or at the gas station but in every manufactured good, from food to cars. Consumers will cut back on spending, which in turn will cut back on production, which results in fewer jobs created or higher unemployment. Some companies will instead move their operations overseas, with the same result.
What is it about Democrats that make them choose to rule us by punishing us where it hurts us most in order to make us do what they think is “good for us”? We’re already 9 TRILLION dollars in the hole with 10 percent of us sitting this fiasco out, what MORE do they want from us?
In the long run, the money extracted from our wallets is merely a way to keep track, to keep score, how much control over the lives of the "don’t know what’s best for them" Others.
