Shea-Porter – latest decisions

From a loyal reader (H/T: Allison) who wishes to make sure that NH folks know what their Congressional Representative Carol Shea-Porter is doing (or not)!

Chameleon Shea-Porter: Look at her quotes and then, her votes.
Quote:

"American’s treasure their privacy. The Bush Administration has been eroding our privacy rights".

Votes:
  • Roll Call 118: She voted with labor union bosses by stripping workers of the right to a private ballot.

  • She refused to state whether she backed Murtha for US House majority leader.

  • Voted secretly to allow Rep. W. Jefferson, FBI bribery suspect ($90,000.00 found in his freezer) to sit on Homeland Security panel that has information to top US secrets.

  • Shea-Porter refuses to disclose her requests for NH earmarks.

Quotes:

"The high cost of insurance premiums is burdening families and small business. It is time to lift this burden from our people".

Votes:
  • Roll Call 10: Voted no to provide health care to un-insured families.
  • Role Call 17: Voted against small businesses to pool together and provide health care for their workers

Quote:

"The middle class is stumbling and the poor have fallen"

Votes:

• Roll Call 377: Voted for one of the largest tax increases in history.
• Roll Call 628: Voted yes to allow illegal immigrants access to federal housing assistance, intended for low income citizens. Qualified citizens for this housing would have to provide valid identification (social security card with photo identification, driver’s license, passport, or an USCIS photo identification card). Apparently Shea-Porter does not believe in providing proof that you are a law abiding citizen in order to receive federal housing assistance.

Broken promises have led Congress to a 14% approval rating according to the
latest Zogby poll. Shea-Porter has helped pave the way to the lowest
Congressional ratings in more than a decade. Is this the change that NH
District 1 voted for last November?
