Paris Released from Jail! Is this fair treatment?

Paris Hilton

How could you not have heard by now that Paris gets….uh….what did they say: "reassigned, but she’s still in custody." Click here for the sad, sad story of where Paris must spend the next 40 days.

Ok, I probably just can’t be jealous without showing it because she has my last name as her first name and ahhh, yep, she’s an heiress and I’m not.

If the public’s reaction is any indication, people just ain’t too happy about Ms. Hilton’s release…umm, I mean "reassignment." By the time I started reading the story and before I ended it, posted comments went from 2204 to almost 7000 in a matter of seconds. Gee, we here at the hard-working Grok should be so lucky. No, of course, I didn’t read them all, I have a full time job ya know.

But of the ones I did read, here’s some of my favorites:

I wonder what the medical condition was? A hangnail?

Like oh my gosh! I’m really like totally surprised!!

Apparently she can’t handle the "real life."

Of the comments I read, not one person expressed concern that maybe she has a "real" medical condition other than if she does, she should be sent to the same infirmary other prisoners get sent to, not home to a mansion.

Does this discourage any other law abiding citizens? Don’t let it. It’s a fact of life that money talks and celebrity certainly does if there’s not enough money although they seem to go hand-in-hand.

We little people will never be treated the same as the filthy rich so I’d suggest spending your time trying to become one of them and then we can talk about you and how you get sooo much special treatment.

But, after her first night in jail she did say: "She’s using this time to reflect on her life, to see what she can do to make the world better and hopefully, in Hutton’s opinion, to change the attitudes that exist about her among many people."

Life reflection apparently only takes a few days if you’re Paris…just how many parties can you reflect on?

But, I can’t wait to hear her plan on what she’s decided to do to make the world better….perhaps move far, far away so we don’t have to hear about her all the time?

As far as changing attitudes about her….well, you know the answer to that one.

.

[Doug comment: Once again we have a blatant example of the reality of the double-standards within our justice system. While I love America, and think we have the best system of self government, it does have flaws. This is one…]
