Who Wants President Biden to Cancel Rent and Mortgage Payments?

Hammer-and-sickle

My email address has been traveled about so much that I get all kinds of emails from Democrat, Progressive, and Socialist groups. This one is from another Taker’s Political Party which believes that what is not theirs IS theirs – as in, “taking” of your private property for their priorities.

ICYMI: PROTECTING the INSTITUTION and NOT YOUR CHILD

Reformatted, emphasis mine:

WORKING FAMILIES PARTY

Friends,

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began around this time last year, millions of Americans have lost their jobs or dealt with reductions in hours at work — triggering an unprecedented housing affordability crisis. Many renters, homeowners, and unemployed workers are teetering on the edge of being evicted, foreclosed out of their homes, or accruing more debt in the middle of an economic crisis — and many are still waiting on unemployment assistance. Nearly 12 million American renters were expected to owe an average of almost $6,000 in late rent and utility payments per household as of last month.

The physical and financial lockdowns instituted by Governors across the US. Government caused the “essential vs non-essential” set of winners and losers. Deciding which businesses could still operate and which couldn’t. But they never note that it was Government that was the “man” that made this disaster.

Instead of criticizing the Government for creating this environment, these almost communists “won’t waste this crisis” to advance the idea that the “Government is supposed to take care of us.”

Eviction moratoriums and payment extensions never were and never will be enough. To prevent an eviction and foreclosure disaster, President Biden must act NOW. Will you add your name to our petition calling on President Biden to use his executive authority to cancel rent and mortgage payments, and get relief to millions of renters and homeowners immediately?

We’re calling on President Biden to take the following actions specifically:

  1. Cancel rent and mortgage payments including rent and mortgage suspension through the duration of the pandemic, and provide relief for property owners as outlined in H.R. 6515 The Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act.
  2. Expand the CDC eviction moratorium to go beyond non-payment of rent and make the moratorium automatic, so it does not place the burden on tenants to apply for protection.

#2  – How the CDC got the Power to unilaterally deprive landowners/mortgage holders of their property, I’ll never know. And it should never have happened in the first place. What does health have to do with disrupting the idea of Private Property?

If you own the property, and have made a private contract (a lease or a mortgage), who the heck is Government to come along and effectively take it away from you?

If your business is to “lend” your property to others or “lend” out your money, the CDC just took that away from you.

#1 – H.R. 6515 The Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act. Effectively, this puts the Government into an ownership position of these properties and, effectively, makes landowners and lenders even more dependent on Government.

Plus, as the below summary states, this puts the Government more in charge of privileging other Government entities in taking over more and more of housing:

This bill provides housing assistance during the COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) public health emergency.

Specifically, the bill suspends rental and mortgage payments for primary residences for a period lasting until 30 days after the termination of the federal emergency declaration relating to COVID-19. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) must establish funds to reimburse lessors and lenders for payments suspended under the bill.

In other words, the bill makes the rest of us pay (via higher taxes or higher national debt) for the people in that housing. Socialize everything!

In addition, HUD must establish an Affordable Housing Acquisition Fund to support the acquisition of multifamily housing projects by nonprofit organizations, public housing agencies, cooperative housing associations, community land trusts, and state and local governments. For a five-year period, entities that are approved for such assistance shall be provided the first right of purchase with respect to such projects.

Socialize EVERYTHING? Think I’m kidding?  Look at the Progressive Democrats Socialists sponsoring this bill, starting with The Squad members:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), Mark Pocan (D-Wis.), Veronica Escobar (D-Texas), Jesús García (D-Ill.), Grace Meng (D-N.Y.), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.), Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-N.J.), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.)
David Cicilline (D-R.I.), Carolyn B. Maloney (D-N.Y.), Raúl M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.), Andy Levin (D-Mich.), Joseph P. Kennedy III (D-Mass.), Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), Adriano Espaillat (D-N.Y.), André Carson (D-Ind.), Grace F. Napolitano (D-Calif.), Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Calif.), Nydia M. Velázquez (D-N.Y.), José E. Serrano (D-N.Y.), Yvette D. Clarke (D-N.Y.), Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), Alan Lowenthal (D-Calif.), Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.), Jerry McNerney (D-Calif.), Jim McGovern (D-Mass.)

Not a single Republican because they realize that what is yours IS yours and Government should stay the heck out of it.  I wonder if a case could be made using the Third Amendment:

No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

No, they aren’t military but it means that if this goes forward the Government is putting people into your property that you haven’t agreed to take in.

If the Left wants to use the 14 Amendment, Section 3 (meant for after the Civil War) against Trump, why can’t Owners reach back to the Revolutionary War in protecting their property against a Socialist attack on both due process, ripping up of private contracts, and effectively taking your property away?

Far too many Americans were already forced to choose between paying for lifesaving health care and paying the rent — and now millions more are facing that decision at the end of this week.

We must not only cancel all rent and mortgage payments but make sure tenants and homeowners aren’t slammed with a massive bill after this pandemic. If you agree, add your name to demand that President Biden takes action now.

In solidarity,

Team WFP

Free Stuff, once again. And certainly no thought for the owners/landlords that also have their bills to pay as well.

It’s the Socialist way – no private property at all and the Government controls it all. After all, Lenin stated that Socialism is only the step leading to full Communism.

And these people are perfectly fine with it!
