These 21 New Hampshire House Republicans Don’t Just Want an Income Tax, They Saved It.

21 Most_Wanted NH House RepublicansThe Commerce Committee report on HB 628 was inexpedient to Legislate. Kill the bill, they said. We don’t want to add dozens of bureaucrats and a mechanism to tax income in New Hampshire. But the 21 Republicans pictured above voted against the committee report. They saved the Income-tax built into the legislation. Without their “support” this tax is dead.

For the record, not one Democrat voted to kill the tax. But we didn’t need them to kill it. All we needed were the Republicans to oppose it. Instead, twenty-one registered members of the GOP, including Assitant Republican House Majority Leader Michael McCarthy, voted against killing the bill with the income tax.

Is he in leadership to help Democrats pass their agenda? Someone needs to look into that.

This bill sets up a mechanism and a state level bureaucracy (probably with dozens of state union employees, offices, equipment, benefits, and pensions) to collect a tax on income. You think that’s ever going away once it gets put into place?

Say it with me, ‘Never.’

HB 628, regardless of what it thinks or claims to be about, what the tax will be, or whether voluntary or not, gives it’s blessing to a permanent infrastructure within state government for taxing income. And what a great place to handle any other broad-based tax someone could think up in the future.

It’s the progressive left’s dream, gift-wrapped and handed to them by registered frikking Republicans.

And as already reported, on the motion to pass the income tax these 28 Republicans, who could have voted no and killed it, pushed it through the NH House.
