On Tuesday night the first Presidential primary debate for Democrats was held in Las Vegas. On the stage was Bernie Sanders, Lincoln Chaffee, Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley and Jim Webb. Each has held public office before while Sanders is a current sitting Senator from Vermont. The youngest candidate is Chafee at 52 while the oldest is Sanders at 72. Every candidate is white.
The debate was set to be a left wing love fest and CNN didn’t disappoint. Although there were some tough questions asked of each candidate, they didn’t pit the candidates against each other like they did in the Republican debate. Clinton was the clear winner since none of the other Democrats on the stage chose to really attack her horrid record and Sanders even helped her out by claiming America is “sick and tired of hearing about the damn emails.’ He’s wrong of course, only Democrats are sick of hearing about Clinton’s corruptness, but it didn’t stop him from saying it and helping her out.
Frank Luntz conducted a focus group of Democrats and Independents during the debate who claimed the winner was Sanders. According to Fox News Insider, the focus group used the following words to describe Sanders: “strong, straightforward, confident, sincere, smart and direct.” Sanders is an Independent who is also a self-admitted Socialist.
What was most disturbing about the debate is that with the exception of Jim Webb, each candidate seemed to want to move further to the left than the next. They bashed Capitalism even though it has lifted more people out of poverty than any other economic system in the history of the world. They called for bigger government, more welfare, higher taxes, more ‘green energy’ to the detriment of the country and of course demanded that actual rights be taken away from Americans.
These Democrats also decided that illegals needed to get more free stuff and black lives mattered more than ALL lives. A bunch of old white Democrats (the party of slavery) claiming they care more about black lives than ALL lives. You have to see it to believe it.
The only reasonable adult on the stage was Jim Webb who has pathetically low numbers in the polls. The others are of the extreme left wing and have no qualms about letting the world know they want to turn the Capitalist of America into a Socialist one. These are not your Father’s Democrats.
These people claim they care about the ‘middle class’ yet seem to know nothing about it. Ask Hillary Clinton if she knows how much a gallon of milk costs? The woman hasn’t driven a car in years. They are so completely out-of-touch with every day Americans that they truly believe all Americans want a government that will take more from their hard-earned pay checks to give it to those who don’t earn it.
Make no mistake, there has always been a far left wing extreme element of the Democrat Party. From eugenicists and racists like Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers. These people have always existed but they have now completely co-opted Democrats. They are no longer hiding in the shadows as they did for years but are out in the open ala Sanders, Clinton and O’Malley.
In 2008 Democrats like Obama and Clinton at least pretended they were Centrists although it was known they were not. To ordinary Americans, nothing seemed extreme about their stump speeches back then. Democrats are now ‘out of the closet’ and at least being honest about who they really are: far left wing extremists who are nothing more than Socialists who want to fundamentally change America for the worse. What the hell happened to the Democrat Party?
