After the GONH (Gun Owners of NH) meeting with Scott Brown had finished (or, as some did, just got up and left – which also “concluded” the meeting), some of the member / attendees strolled over across the street. I was introduced to Dennis (for the first time) and he explained that he wanted to say something and Steve I had met during the Nashua demonstration back when Scott Brown was speaking at an NH GOP fundraiser in Nashua; he was willing to speak if we changed up the format a bit (er, I’m not used to being in front of the camera….).

You know, we feel vindicated to a degree – it is not US at GraniteGrok that have vented frustration that while Scott Brown is glib as all get out, when you stop and analyze what he actually said, you arrive at a null spot. Lots of words, sounds good, tugs at the heart strings, but for we down-to-earth, common sense techies and engineers, we want content. We deal with null spots all the time – generally in our line of work, those are bad places to be. Obama is a master of them – after all, how many people fell for “Hope and Change” and put themselves into the void that he created? I’m not calling Brown to be an Obama, so don’t go there. But I do believe that he is using a similar technique.
Want to call me out on this? Please do – we actually DO want to know what he is FOR and HOW he would actually accomplish it. We deal with Glittering Generalities all the time (after all, we have to deal with Marketing Types) – but we have to deal with little bits too. WE haven’t heard any on our own – if you have, PLEASE SHARE!
