Republican and Democrat voting blocs: An ironic observation

Have you ever noticed the difference between the voting blocs that make up the Republican electoral alliance, and those that support the Democrats?

Democrats tend to have "interest groups" that make up their voting blocs. These interest groups defined by racial or ethnic classification (the black vote, the Jewish vote, the Hispanic vote), social or economic class (the welfare class, "poor people," etc.), gender (the female vote, "gay" voters), greed-level (unions, particularly government employees, and crony-capitalists), envy-level (hard-corps socialists and other leftists), and so forth. They are all motivated by their own interest and that of their "group."

The Republican voting blocs, on the other hand, tend to consist of interest groups defined by ideas or beliefs: Social conservatives, free enterprisers, "patriotism" voters, libertarians, Constitutionalists, traditionalist Main Streeters, etc.

What does it all mean? One ironic thought that jumps out is that Democrats appear to be motivated mainly by self-interest and greed, a "what’s in it for me" mentality (this was particularly on display in 2008, when people actually thought that Obama was going to arrange to fill their gas tanks for free or pay their mortgages) that thrives on the notion that "we can take what we want" through political means. This attitude is driven by fear, envy, and hatred of others.

Republican voters, by contrast, tend to be motivated by broad interests and ideas, questions such as: What will most benefit America as a whole? What is best for society overall? What polices will most benefit most citizens?

Interesting, is it not? What it comes down to is this: The selfless, loving Democrats tend to be motivated by envy, hatred, greed, and self-interest, while the greedy, hateful Republicans tend to be motivated by an overall concern for the long-term benefit and welfare of society as a whole.

Irony piled upon irony….
