Yesterday Maggie Hassan attacked Senator Kelly Ayotte because she voted against closing the ‘supposed’ terrorist gun loophole. What Hassan failed to mention is that Ayotte wants to vote on closing this ‘supposed’ loophole but with added features like giving innocent people who find themselves on the ‘No Fly List’ or the ‘Terror Watch List’ the means to get themselves off of it.

Both Hassan and Kelly Ayotte are dead wrong about adding a prohibition to people buying guns on ANY federal government secret list. Where is the due process for getting on these lists? Lists made up by the federal government that have included completely innocent people who would never even think of terrorizing this country. Lists that people have no idea how they get onto because they aren’t indicted or convicted of any crime.

Basically what Hassan wants to do is take rights away from innocent people. And somehow that is okay with her because it’s related to firearms. In her backwards world, terrorists are going to suddenly obey gun control laws and buy firearms legally. Note the rifles used in the San Bernardino attack were not purchased legally by the terrorists but then again, neither of them were on any federal government ‘list’ or in any database that would have stopped them regardless.

Democrats are slamming Ayotte because she wants to provide the due process after the fact yet Democrats don’t want ANY due process. They just want gun control by any means necessary. Given the history of Democrats and creating illegal lists against people (Clintons with illegal FBI information on Republicans in the 90s and the IRS targeting conservatives under Obama) anyone in their right mind would be absolutely insane to believe this is a good idea.

Of course, Hassan has a history of supporting rights being taken away from innocent people. She vetoed Senate Bill 116 even though her office admitted she knew discrimination existed in New Hampshire. Hassan’s response was to ‘lawyer up.’ Apparently both Hassan and Ayotte (ironically both lawyers) believe that law-abiding citizens can easily afford a lawyer to fight the government who took their rights away in the first place!

There is no ‘due process’ to get on any of these government lists. No one knows they are even on the list until they try to fly and may denied that ability. To tie 2nd Amendment rights to some secret list made up for and controlled by hacks in the federal government is not only egregious but it’s downright unconstitutional. This is typical behavior for Maggie Hassan but Ayotte is no better. What rights will be next?
