As usual, this week’s broadcast version of GraniteGrok and AnkleBitingPundits brings an array of items and guests for your consideration– ALL STARTING AT 9AM! As always, thanks to the technical wizardry and analytical skills of Skip, if you are beyond the broadcast area of Newstalk 1490 WEMJ, simply click here for instructions on how to connect and listen on the Internet via livestream. (Podcasts here)

    • NH First Congressional District Republican candidate John Stephen, the former head of the state’s Department of Health & Human Services joins us in the first hour for a roundtable discussion of the issues. We’ll no doubt discuss some of his GraniteGrok candidate Q & A answers as well, which can be viewed here.

    • David Mica of the Florida Petroleum Council will give us the lowdown on oil exploration, off-shore drilling, and will explain the "they have leases already and just aren’t drilling" meme making the news circuit this week. I participated in a bloggers’ conference call on the subject with David and some of his fellow oil industry analysts and experts this week, and I can assure everyone that there’s a lot of factors and forces at play in the current political and financial environment. I’m sure you’ll find this segment most informative. An article in the Sun-Sentinel.com quoted David this past Wenesday, on lifting the offshore drilling ban in Florida:

"lifting the ban would bring swift relief to American consumers and workers."

He said it would allow companies to tap wells that have been dug in the Gulf. It would send an encouraging signal to investors in the volatile marketplace, which could affect prices. And it would generate government revenue for states and the federal government almost immediately through the leasing of tracts in the Gulf and elsewhere.

"It would affect our pocketbooks in ways other than just the price at the pump or the electric bill in the mailbox," Mica said.

    • Scott Thurston was the original "culprit" with regards to the now infamous Wolfeboro flag-removal lawsuit: he applied to the Selectmen, paid for, and installed the American flags located on all the lighted flagpoles in that picturesque "classic" New Hampshire small town. He will join us in studio to give his perspective on the purpose of his actions which, contrary to the plaintiff’s contention in the now-withdrawn suit, have nothing to do with "the Bush Administration."
Wow! It all starts at 9AM EST Saturday. Tune in if you’re in Central NH at NewsTalk 1490AM WEMJ or live on the ‘Net here… The best radio (in our humble opinions) anywhere…
