One of the Republicans running in the Executive Council District 5 primary is distorting the facts because they are afraid their opponent will win. After reading the flyer attacking Dave Wheeler and the comments, I decided it was time to speak up against these blatant falsehoods.

This past week, Dave Wheeler was attacked because our current Governor endorsed him. The authors of the flyer accused Wheeler of being ‘backed by …pro-Planned Parenthood Liberals.
Let’s talk facts – Regarding Right to Life: Dave Wheeler was on the board of New Hampshire Right To Life for several years and was just (2020) endorsed by New Hampshire RTL.
Over the years, Dave Wheeler led the fight to defund Planned Parenthood and return that money back to Washington, DC.
When Planned Parenthood was under investigation for selling body parts, Dave Wheeler said, “You can’t divorce what’s going on nationally from Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, and we need a real investigation.”
In fact, in 2018, Planned Parenthood issued a press release slamming Wheeler for opposing them. Does this sound like someone who is pro-Planned Parenthood?
Two years ago, Dave Wheeler was honored as ‘Conservative of the Year as an advocate for free speech.
AFP had to say, Dave “Wheeler has been a staunch defender of free speech, ensuring Granite Stater’s can think, speak, and associate freely without government harassment. Wheeler has also been a consistent watchdog for taxpayers and opposed corporate welfare that benefits the well-connected over hard-working Granite Stater’s. Wheeler received AFP’s 2018 Tom Thomson Defender of Liberty Award.”
Regarding the 2nd Amendment: Wheeler has been involved in protecting the 2nd amendment since I have known him, over 20 years. He stood up and fought for Constitutional Carry, and when Governor Sununu signed the bill into law, he was there. He was there to ensure that we had a shooting range protection act that still protects us today.
When it came time to fight for a nominee to the New Hampshire Supreme Court, Wheeler was there. Wheeler had this to say in support of AG Gordon MacDonald; “MacDonald also worked to redirect a sizable Federal grant called “Project Safe Neighborhoods” by removing criminals from our streets instead of demonizing firearms and their law-abiding owners.
I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to have a majority of New Hampshire Supreme Court justices that understand our right to keep and bear arms as the founders of our State understood it!”
So, if Dave is guilty by association of who endorsed him, according to the rationale of the flyer and some of the comments listed, then would it be safe to say that his primary opponent in the EC5 race should also be held to that standard?
If the answer is YES, then if one researched Wheeler’s opponent who is spreading these lies and disparaging the facts you will find true guilt by association.
Wheeler’s primary opponent founded and is still a part-owner of a lobbying firm that has donated more than $10,000 to Democrats. In fact, one of his donations was given to help one of the Democrat candidates who is now running for Governor. If one can be guilty by association, Wheeler’s opponent is anti-2nd Amendment, Pro-Abortion, Pro Income Tax, and Anti-Liberty.
Facts matter. When you google David Wheeler and Planned Parenthood, you’ll find article after article of Wheeler opposing sending taxpayer money to them. When you research his opponent, you find years of lobbying for the likes of “Decriminalize Sex Work” and union bosses…. Facts matter.
Dave Wheeler is a man of integrity, both in his personal life and in the political arena.
