Are you tired of your tax dollars going to pay for abortion? You are not alone. But that does not include the Democrat Party or Planned Parenthood. They care a lot. And they just took another gutshot in court.

The Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overruled a district court’s preliminary injunction preventing the exclusion of Planned Parenthood from Medicaid funding. The court of appeals ruled in an 11-5 majority that Planned Parenthood did not have the right to challenge the state’s decisions regarding who receives Medicaid benefits.
Texas and Louisiana began this process after undercover videos showed Planned Parenthood executives plotting how best to time abortions to improve the odds of getting more viable baby parts. The sale of fetal tissues, being illegal, promoted them to take action to exclude them from all avenues of taxpayer support, including Medicaid.
The Fifth Circuit ruling cited how “Medicaid beneficiaries “have no right under the statute to challenge a State’s determination that a provider is unqualified.”
They are not saying abortion is illegal. They are not suggesting third parties cannot fund abortion providers or any of their other services. They say that Texas and Louisiana can decide who qualifies for taxpayer support under each state’s Medicaid rules.
Big Picture
House Democrats have made it clear they want to end the Hyde Amendment. Should Biden’s claim to victory hold up to judicial scrutiny, he will scarp any limitation or prohibition on funding established under the Trump Administration. A huge increase in financial support to these reliable donors (using your money) is expected.
As for the case at hand, where things land is not clear. I can see this walking its way up the judicial food chain without any clue how the story ends. But if the Supreme Court rules along the Fifth Circuit lines, Democrats will find another way to shovel money to their buddies in the baby-killing business and call it racial justice.
A strange way to describe a government-granted right to kill minority babies.
A policy their Ideological Klan ancestors would be proud to call their own.
