So, I was thinking about the way our party chair has herself over promised and under delivered for Friday and Saturday, and how there’s an ever-present danger that Karma will strike.
See, Jennifer got Sharon Day in state for grassroots training on Saturday morning.
She promised herself and Sharon Day for the Woman of the Year event Saturday lunchtime, too, but made the ladies tweak the time of the event to conform which her schedule.
The chair was also scheduled to be on stage Friday lunchtime at the Souhegan Valley Federation of Republican Women’s Flag Day Picnic.
Unconnected to the chair, yet, was the Friday evening Nashua City Republican fundraiser with high profile speaker Betsy McCaughey. And then it got interesting….
First, the esteemed chair decided to milk the presence of Sharon Day, by twisting the arms of Exeter City Republicans and Seacoast Republican Women to put on an event for Sharon on Friday evening, and minimizing the position of the Nashua event on the NHGOP site.
THEN, the chair got a better offer for her presence on Friday lunchtime, as Ayotte is throwing a fundraiser with Rob Portman, use, he of the sour grapes fame at the RNC (“Obviously Romney’s short list wasn’t short enough!”).
What about that little promise to Souhegan Valley? No problem – never mind the personal promise to Christine Peters, just have your current flunky call Verity Swayne and say you can’t make it. Hmmm. P!ssing off Christine Peters, not a good idea!
And then I burst into song (yeah, painful), with apologies to Jeff Beck:
You’re everywhere and nowhere, baby
That’s where you’re at
Saying everything is groovy
When your tyres are flat
Anything you want is yours now
Only nothing’s for free
Lies are gonna get you some day
Just you wait and see
And it’s hi-ho silver lining
And away you go now, baby
I see your sun is shining
But I won’t make a fuss
Though it’s obvious
(Stolen from Hi Ho, Silver Lining by Jeff Beck)
