Washington looks on, horrified at the opulence! The term “Royal Command Performance” has been around for centuries, as monarchs exercised their divine right to command performances at their palaces by the best entertainers and of the latest plays.
During the last 100 years, the British Royal Variety Performance, often known by its older name, has been a staple of the Christmas season, held in a major theater (often in London), with all proceeds going to charity. These performances are televised live for the enjoyment of the citizens, and are always attended by the Queen or a senior member of the Royal Family.
Obama, MC in Chief, presides over his TENTH Command Performance. In America, we don’t have a King, we have an elected Chief Executive, to whom we trust the country, and who we permit to reside in the people’s house. That hasn’t stopped the family Obama from acting like royalty, though, complete with TEN Command Performances so far in his reign. Is it any wonder that George Washington looks somewhat shocked at the opulence! Be of good cheer, though, folks – PBS will broadcast the extravaganza on April 16th for the subjects citizenry.
Everything’s groovy for the Obamas (Or the Choom wagon just passed by!)Golf, separate vacations for Him, Her, and the kids, Royal Command Performances, and all while the White House is closed to the public due to “Sequestration”. Is there no end to their gall and effrontery? Who will rid us of this turbulent pest?
