There are few Republican leaders in New Hampshire as revered and respected as Phyllis Woods. She has served the Party in just about every way possible over many years. About Andrew Hemingway she says “I believe he will bring a fresh new face and a bold new perspective to our party….He possesses all the skills and talents necessary to be an effective and successful party Chairman. Dear Committee Members,
It was at the request of a trusted former colleague in the House that I first traveled to meet with Andrew Hemingway, a young, unknown upstart that was thinking of becoming involved in the politics. After spending an hour listening to and questioning this energetic, bright, conservative activist, I was genuinely impressed. I was surprised to find in someone so young, such a level of maturity, professionalism, and business and political savvy. I believed he could be, and hoped he would be, representative of the future of the Republican party in New Hampshire.
Since that time I have attended classes he put on, gone to programs he spoke at and sponsored, and witnessed him in action at numerous events and with campaigns in the state and in DC. I’ve seen and heard him on the radio, on TV, and at live televised forums and have participated in his online townhall meetings. I am continually awed by his articulate representation of our Republican values and principles.
I’ve come to know Andrew very well over the years and have had many lengthy conversations with him regarding candidates, state and national politics and the state of the Republican party. I know his values and his character and most importantly, the way he listens to, respects, and treats people. I truly believe him to be personally modest and without hubris and focused on the good he can bring to the future of our party, our state and our nation to make the world a better place for his children. I believe as State party Chairman he would embody the very essence of servant leadership.
When I heard a rumor that Andrew may be considering running for State Chairman I dropped him a short email message: “Is it true?” to which he immediately responded: “Yes, it’s true!” I could not have been more delighted to hear that he was ready, willing, and able to serve our party in this capacity. I believe he will bring a fresh new face and a bold new perspective to our party and will be able to reach new constituencies and factions of the party to help us build an inclusive, vibrant, and cohesive team to work together to find, recruit, train, support, and elect Republicans to office at all levels. He possesses all the skills and talents necessary to be an effective and successful party Chairman. He has my unconditional support and endorsement for Chairman of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee.
