Update 9pm:
Mittens was stopped 🙂
It IS Newt’s night!
Santorum surged past Ron Paul, but no further.
Live coverage from Stacy all evening
Time for another plug for our other roving friend, real shoe-leather reporter, and first class writer, Robert Stacy McCain, AKA TheOtherMcCain. Refreshed by a luxurious two day break at home in Maryland, after more than two weeks pursuing truth and consequences on the campaign trail in Iowa and New Hampshire, Stacy and son Jefferson set out for an educational experience following the fortunes of the candidates in South Carolina.
Frantic dashes across the state, feats of driving that would be best kept within the confines of Hazzard County, “liberating” WiFi from a closed McDonalds – the glamorous life of a first rate political writer is not for the faint of heart, but it is great fun to follow along from your armchair (and please hit his ‘Tip Jar’ if you enjoy the ride). Fact, opinion, photos, video – the stuff you won’t get just reading or watching conventional sources. Here we see Stacy’s Nomadic National Affairs Desk, as he prepares for another reporting marathon when the polls close and the spin begins in SC tonight.
Jefferson enjoying a leisurely start to a gruelling week of reporting in South Carolina, seen here chowing down on good ole Southern fried chicken in the media welcome tent on January 15th.
A couple of days later, Jefferson snagged a shot which had me scratching my head for a moment or two as I tried to puzzle out what was going on- Had Stacy’s wild rides through the SC countryside finally caught up with him? Do they really paint jail cell bars yellow in SC? No, the intersection of American Spectator filing deadline and McDonald’s closing time had Stacy sitting on the curb performing a high-tech jailbreak by using their free WiFi from OUTSIDE the playground bars!
