Christine O’Donnell is a long-shot for the US Senate in Delaware. But she has heightened awareness of grass-roots conservatives (David), fighting the establishment parties and the powers-that-be (Goliath).
She’s been the victim of dismissive ridicule and insult by both parties, making her more of a loveable underdog for conservatives and fair-minded independents around the country. She’s now a symbol of Tea Party independence and a healthy distrust of career, insider politicians. Relatively speaking, she’s new blood, in a year when incumbents are being hastily run out of town.
She’s been declared "not a viable candidate" by the DE Republican party chair (no less), who is still miffed that she doused his party-insider-favorite, moderate Republican Mike Castle; yet, she has raised over $2.7M so far, and the NRSC is about to pump money into her campaign. Rightly so, nobody is writing her off.
Check out her first serious television advertisement…and keep an eye on the results of her election.
