Massachusetts Independent Gubernatorial Candidate, Tim Cahill, has faced two significant campaign setbacks this week, losing a senior political strategist, and, now, his campaign manager.
What caught my attention here was the paraphrased statement of John Weaver, said senior strategist, where he admits that the "independent candidate could not win the race for governor and that his continued presence in the contest would help Governor Deval Patrick get re-elected."
Weaver appears to be a smart person, acting on his pragmatic assessment of the campaign, sacrificing his own fight to ensure a victory for the greater cause. Now, if Cahill, trailing way behind in distant third place, would decide to drop out, Republican challenger Charlie Baker has a much better chance of ousting Obamabot, Deval Patrick.
For some reason, I just couldn’t resist the opportunity to make this point.
