Pot calling the kettle… nevermind. More distraction from the Obama camp.

But his is bigger than mine!

It seems as though the Democrats are on a new tack seeking to portray Senator McCain as something most people most likely already knew: he’s (gasp!) rich. Unless you didn’t know that the Senator is married to the heiress of a large Arizona beer distributorship company, this is not really newsworthy. Nobody questions the fact that, yes, indeed, there are many wealthy politicians in DC. My thing is, I want them wealthy BEFORE they get there, not BECAUSE they’re there. Such is the case with McCain. What’s Obama and his wife ever done other than public or non-profit "service"? And yet, they’re rich too.

Anyway, the Dems, including Barack Obama, have decided to try to make hay of the fact that Senator McCain flubbed a question during an interview with the Politico regarding how many houses he owns.

At a campaign appearance in Chester, Va., on Thursday morning, Obama said: "Somebody asked John McCain, ‘How many houses do you have?’ And he said, I’m not sure. I’ll have to check with my staff. True quote: I’m not sure, I’ll have to check with my staff. So they asked his staff and he said, at least four. At least four! …

This is what McCain spokesman Brian Rogers had to say, in response:

“Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people “cling” to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?

“The reality is that Barack Obama’s plans to raise taxes and opposition to producing more energy here at home as gas prices skyrocket show he’s completely out of touch with the concerns of average Americans.”

You’d think the Obamessiah would avoid confrontations over who’s more in touch with ordinary America. I’d say Senator McCain is more "in touch" with what I need as an ordinary American than Obama, much like an Obama supporter would say the same. I want substantive debate over issues and solutions– something thus far Barack Obama has avoided whenever possible… so he’s left with arguments designed to distract attention to that fact. This is one example…
