Hour 1                                        Hour 2

Hour One:

Opening Banter and Dean Barker BlueHampshire – Olympics; we’re too old and the wrong shape! Our good friend in both the cyber and real worlds, Chan from Weekend Pundit guests co-hosts once again!   Dean Barker from BlueHampshire.com (our "loyal" opposition and the leading Liberal NH blog) calls in and we talk about the role of the New Media on both the Right and Left, the perceived "arms" race and acceptance of the blogosphere in the old world of politics and idea dissemination.  Grant Bosse (his ears must have been burning) calls in.  Of COURSE, the gang talks about the Obama / Biden ticket news.

Jeb Bradley vying return to the US House of Representatives from NH CD-1’s Congressman calls in from the road of a day full of events.  Second Amendment rights were upfront as we talked about the Heller vs DC gun lawsuit, settled by the Supreme Court (5-4, showing that Prez races count).  We also mentioned the Laconia (NH) opening of the Republican office.

He’ll be with us again next week.

Former Massachusetts Governor Paul Celluci calls in to talk about Senator McCain’s energy and economic plans ("do everything") vs Obama’s ("the second coming of Jimmy Carter – we can’t do").  Chan mentions that his son has the best line of the day concerning concern about Obama’s tax plan: "Rich – is that anyone with a job?"!

Hour Two:

Opening Banter: More commentary on the Olympics (the shape we’re not in, Chinese female ages scandal possibly broken by a blogger using Google cache forcing the IOC to investigate).

Tom Tardif, Republican candidate for Belknap County Republicans comes in to talk about his race vs. Frank Tilton.  The discussion includes the flaws in the budget process, the flaws in appointment processes, effect of unconstrained spending (8.8% rise!) on property taxes because "revenues are not meeting expenditures".  He is the Right change!

Ramesh Ponuru, Sr. Editor of National Review comes on to discuss the problem that Obama has gotten himself into with waffling over his failure to protect babies born alive (and viable) during botched abortions.  The gang agrees that his campaign staff, in trying to cover it up, has not helped and that his stance seems to be that a woman’s right to choose trumps that of a living human being outside of her womb (and a doctor’s right to choose as well).

Note: As noted with our time with Tom, Meet The New Press has offered to host an hour long debate between Tom Tardif (former Laconia Mayor) and his Republican Primary opposition, Frank Tilton (member of the NH House of Representatives and Chair of the Belknap County Republican Committee).  Tom has said yes – Frank has been called and emailed (we await his reply).

Doug has agreed to recuse himself from the debate due to the strained relationship between the two.

SchlubCam coming.
