Got a better example of Nanny-statism?

Simply unbelievable.  I cannot think of a better example of Nanny-statism gone awry.

There are too many Brits that are so fixated on constantly "texting while walking", they keep walking into street posts.  Over and over again.  From Engadget (yeah, this adds to this – a gadget blog thinks that this is just too funny!):

Apparently, a study in the UK found that one in ten people actually managed to hurt themselves by walking into a post while peering down at their mobile phone screen

Now, from time to time, those of us that have spent any time in a city have done just this.  I do remember on a high school field trip to Boston to walk the "red bricks" – a historical walk around Boston to visit all of the historical places.  Well, pretty much in front of the Paul Revere House, I had been walking backwards while talking to friends behind me.  Then I turn around….

….right into a post.  Darn near knocked me out and I would have fallen if a friend hadn’t caught me.  ‘Course, he started to crack up so badly that HE did almost drop me….

But, it was MY fault…I was NOT paying attention…I was NOT acting like the (young) adult I should have been.

Now, to be honest here, it is a charity in London that is actually paying for these but Government has to approve it.  Yet, if you listen to the Democrats here, in almost all areas of life (hey, just listen to Michelle Obama!) nothing in America is good and we all have to be taken care of. Charities are being supplanted by professional social services organizations which mainly obtain their funds from the public tax trough that justify their existence of "helping the helpless".

Nonsense!

Liberals decry Conservatives as being cold-hearted, selfish, mean-spirited, and eeeevil.  They say that we don’t care about helping people.

Frankly, Liberalism is all about being easy – Government can take care of our needs (and pass that bill and spend our money to make that happen). Conservatism is the opposite and therefore, it is much harder to be a conservative than a Liberal.

Why? A good part of it is that:

we actually expect you to think and behave like an adult.
