In mid-October, the Trump Administration announced a deal with China on Trade. It sounded great, but within days, the Chinese were asking for more. They wanted assurances that mid-December Tariff hikes would be shelved. It wasn’t part of the mid-October announcement.
We’ve been covering this news for two years now and the day appears to have arrived. Donald Trump has reached a trade deal with China. And it will Make America Great Again.
China has again said it’s ready to come to the trade table. That sounds good but we can’t know what that means until it happens. And no one goes in giving in, you always ask for more than you think you might get. But what does China have that Trump wants?
As noted last night, America is not alone in our trade war with China. Everyone that trades with the Chinese could do better. And as of this morning, China is ready to talk to Donald Trump. Their currency and markets are collapsing.
Mr. Trump appears to have had a trade deal done with Japan prior to the most recent set of tariff hikes against China. It has a few tweaks but is complete in principle, with Japan agreeing to buy any excess corn China refuses because of US tariff hikes.
