No Problem: NYT Reporter outs Ferguson cop Wilson’s address. Problem: Her address gets outed

Julie BosmanOne does have to wonder why a reporter, after putting resigned Ferguson cop Darren Wilson’s home address info in her story, is upset that her address got outed as well?  After all, journalists have no expectation that they are above the same “action” that they put their own subjects through, right?  Well, Julie Bosman of the New York Times is such a person – what is good for his goose is not good for her gander.  And then she complained to her local cops, demanding protection:

The New York Times reporter who published Darren Wilson’s address is “over exaggerating” her security concerns say the Chicago Police Department.

Sources inside CPD say that Julie Bosman demanded a level of protection afforded A-List celebs and dignitaries, but an investigation revealed that she was not in any danger, and deserved no more than extra attention paid to her address by patrol.  Despite hundreds of phone calls and not a few unsolicited delivery food sent to her Chicago home Bosman “wasn’t under any real threat” says a Chicago police officer.  “She came in thinking she was Steven Spielberg or something shooting a movie” demanding all kinds of protections says a law enforcement source with knowledge of the Chicago police.

“The police laughed at her.”

As well they should have – and proves she is clueless.  Wilson was attacked while on duty, regardless of what you might think of the decision, you can be sure that a lot of the police are on his side (just like a lot of folks like Al Sharpton, Farrakhan, the CBC, and Obama are on the other).  Thus, when Bosman put Wilson in danger, they all see themselves having been put into danger as well if they had been he – simply for a journalist’s desire of being “out there”.  She deserves all the ridicule that comes her way – after all, people have put a price on Wilson’s head and she made their job easier.
