We’re Creeping Up on the Conway Daily Sun…

With August showing so much improvement in traffic it seemed like a good time to update our Alexa rankings and announce some changes. I’ve been including WMUR since the start but it occurs to me that a Television Channel website is not exactly a goal of ours. I’m not saying we couldn’t ever compete just that we can’t even try right now unless we start doing school closings or weather. That’s not happening so I’ve plucked them off our site list.

Who can we add that does compete? No one yet but I’m looking and perhaps you can help.

We want New Hampshire based web presences, blogs, opinion journalism, anything remotely news, culture, politics. I welcome your suggestions but trust me when I tell you that most of them have either too little traffic to be ranked or the numbers are not anywhere close. The Nashua Telegraph, for example, is four places behind GraniteGrok at number ten our list

Yes, we have sites like InDepthNH (funded with donations but still reporting the same liberal drivel). They use reporters and they did get some attention around our shop thanks to their decision to name the victim in Jeff Woodburn’s domestic abuse scandal. But their national rank is just over 400,000 with a global rank of 2.1 million.

If it makes them feel any better, another “left-leaning” web presence, Miscellany Blue is at 497,155 / 3.7 Million globally.

But send them if you got em. I’ll plug them in and track them, even if it is just for laughs. As for our humble mission, GraniteGrok did not overtake anyone but we are creeping up on the Conway Daily Sun/Berlin Daily Sun. They are the same site. In fact, the Berlin sun is a sub-page of the Conway Sun. And we’re within 4,000 positions of overtaking them in Alexa Rankings. They’re going down. Setting, if you prefer, behind The Grok!

Our national rank has improved in the last two weeks from  50,321 to 48,749. Our Global rank jumped from 272,006 to 255,619. Plenty of room for improvement and we’re on it.
