Has NH CD-2 Candidate Dr. Stewart Levenson read the Constitution, Declaration, and contemplated on "The Proper Role of Govt"? - Granite Grok

Has NH CD-2 Candidate Dr. Stewart Levenson read the Constitution, Declaration, and contemplated on “The Proper Role of Govt”?

Dr. Levenson on WMUR News on 8/13 at 6pm, shows us a rather parochial and patriarchal view citizens in his own words:

The top issue is our approach to government; it’s broken.  We have to get rid of the career politicians. I blew the whistle on the corruption and inept care at the VA and I’ll do the same in Washington.  We need to get rid of the career politicians to put people in, do the job the people elected them to do, who will take care of their needs, who will represent them. We don’t have representation now in NH. We have congress people that are beholden to the  big Corporation s to California to outside interests.

Now, I realize that in being a doctor, he takes care of people – that’s his worldview and we need people like that. But is it the Proper Role of Government to “take care of their needs”?

Absolutely not.

This is an attitude that “we must be taken care of.”  Now, at the risk of ticking off yet another Republican, saying that folds right into the Democrat agenda.  We aren’t to be considered self-reliant, self-government and sovereign Citizens.  Rather, we are those that can’t think for themselves and must be cared for like addled children.  Sorry, dude – that’s not what Govt is supposed to be doing.  We’re supposed to be the ones saying that “a job is the best social program” and Govt should get out of the way, stay out of the way, and let our capitalist system make those jobs.

Carol Shea-Porter is of this nanny-state mindset.  Ditto, Jeanne Shaheen – we are nothing without Government.  To them, we are the embodiment of Obama’s “The Life of Julia” where Government is at every turn (and nook and cranny) ready with a soft, silken hand to guide you where ever you should be.  It provides for you at all stages of your being and always telling you how to live your life.

“Who will take care of their needs” – even if I have over-exaggerated, this is still dangerous territory even if writ small. Yet, from his Levenson Plan, I’m not sure he is “writ small”:

We need to continue to allow adult children to remain on their parents’ policies until age 26.

We have had enough Republicans with this outlook here in NH – I really don’t want to send yet another one to DC, like Charlie Bass was, that the Proper Role of Government means “directing your life”. This is not a Conservative viewpoint.

*******

Oh, another thing.  Once again, people tweet into my ear and this time from DC where Dr. Levenson wants to go. He’s still holding that, paraphrased, “only a Pro-Choice Republican can win the District” over us.

Nice to see that he wants to take care of the unborn child’s most basic need – that of Life.
