That special election in Ohio that was going to be the next “final nail in the coffin of the Trump ascendency” or whatever his downfall is being labeled as this week, didn’t happen. But it started out grand. The media was very excited about how close it was. Al Franken-esque “look what I found mom” ballot discoveries were going to shift the tide. And those absentee ballots…Democrat victory was nigh.
Not so much.
Balderson accepted victory in the special election after Democrat Danny O’Connor called to concede.
The margin of victory, after all the foolishness, was less than 2000 votes.
Republicans need to learn the lesson. Get. Out. And. Vote.
Need a reason?
America ascendant. Rising economic tides. The restoration of constitutional limits. A diplomatic long game that can bring international enemies to heel. Stopping the flow of opioids across a porous border. Preventing the continued progressive radicalization of federal agencies, not the least of which (and credit to Matt Schlapp at last night’s Nashua Steak Out for these points) the FBI and the DoJ.
Matt also explained how, in his opinion, if the Democrats are allowed to take the House the first thing they will do after getting sworn in is impeach the President. No reason. Any reason. Democrats in Congress are already radicalized. There is no working with them or appeasing them.
Get your ass to the polls and vote Republican. Cajole, convince or drag your friends and family with you; explain the danger. Remind them of the violence and intimidation. That’s coming for al lof us.
Riots. Speech intimidation. Intolerance. The left’s assault on the Bill of Rights. These things are barely held at bay when the Liberals are out-of-power. Letting them back in will only accellerate our demise.
Liberty matters because after they take it, they won’t want to give it back.
And Balderson’s victory while slim reminds us that as organized as the left may be, as much money as they have (and it’s a lot) you can still keep the crazy out of Washington.
But a fraction of one percent is not enough. You have to win big, or they’ll find a way to steal it from you.
You want to see wages rise, people off welfare and Medicaid and food stamps, heck – tax revenues go up? Lower taxes and more productivity make those things happen. They are happening now. Democrats just want your money and your obedience.
Finally, if for no other reason, vote Republican because it really is your money. You did build it. And you are better at making meaningful investments in your local economy than anyone in Concord, New Hampshire or Washington DC.
We may also be just one more massive Democrat defeat from tipping them off their meds and into an all-out inner-party civil war. The radical left and the (more radical) Marxist left are fighting over who will destroy the Democrat Party now. Another mass rejection might get the job done.
Elect Republicans. Speed up the process. The winners will be America, the Republican Party, your wallets and pocketbooks, and former moderate Democrats will vote with us because their former “ideological” maters are insane.
The world will be a better place as well.
