Mike’s Maxim: “When Given The Choice Of A Real Democrat vs A Fake Democrat…”

…. Voters will choose the real Democrat every time!”

File this under “RINOs never learn.” When you act moderate and try to please both sides of the aisle, you aren’t going to win over any Democrat voters, because they’ll pick somebody who is with them 100% of the time.

When you run to the left of the Democrat in the general election, you can’t steal the Democrat’s voters, but you CAN discourage some of your own. Just ask Charlie Bass, who lost to Paul Hodes in 2008, then again to Ann Kuster in 2012, or ask Scott Brown, who beat Martha Coakley by running as a conservative, then lost to Liz Warren (2012) and Jeanne Shaheen (2014) by trying to out “moderate” them.

Warning to “Republicans” – Run as a conservative, and mostly act like one, and you will get elected, and probably re-elected, but act like a Democrat, and you’ll be replaced by the real thing. Put another way: You can appease the Democrats, but they STILL won’t vote for you!
