“Winning is only a precursor; what you do afterwards is most important. Let Chris Sununu ponder upon that before signing the latest Bathroom Bill HB1319

Gov Sununu said I can pee hereGovernor Sununu, apparently, doesn’t like that line in so much.  His exact quote is “Winning is everything.”  I guess the “the means justify…” something or other. If you don’t have a purpose, it doesn’t matter, I guess.  It’s like that old phrase “if you don’t know where yer goin’, it doesn’t matter what road you take.” And right now, the conservative base in NH is waiting to see what road Governor Sununu is going to take.

But first, let me lay these out there; before he signs the HB1319, the latest Bathroom Bill which if a guy feels like a woman, he can go anywhere he wants (just ask Target):

[Art.] 4. [Rights of Conscience Unalienable.] Among the natural rights, some are, in their very nature unalienable, because no equivalent can be given or received for them. Of this kind are the Rights of Conscience.
June 2, 1784

[Art.] 5. [Religious Freedom Recognized.] Every individual has a natural and unalienable right to worship God according to the dictates of his own conscience, and reason; and no subject shall be hurt, molested, or restrained, in his person, liberty, or estate, for worshipping God in the manner and season most agreeable to the dictates of his own conscience; or for his religious profession, sentiments, or persuasion; provided he doth not disturb the public peace or disturb others in their religious worship.

Many on the Conservative side are talking about this next thing – and they are riled up., so say this once again as well as Gov. Sununu is the only one now that can stop those violations of the NH Constitution from happening.  Going to discriminate against Normals, Gov. Sununu?  Or not? Those holding traditional values – what will we think of your message to us when you sign it? That we don’t matter?

You have to win 50%+1, we only have to change 0.5%-1% to make that not happen

And there is a yuge passel of people who are eyeing that most carefully because of this:

Sununu has the Bathroom-Lockerroom bill

He was warned, he was given GREAT messaging (re: he blamed other Republicans for “bad messaging” – Chris, you ain’t seen nuttin’ yet!).  He was told what the possible (and given the militancy of some of the LBTQ folks, almost a certainty) ramifications are going to be as a result of this.  And I’m betting that he’s going to pull a few Ayotte-no-shows for a while.  After all, I do wonder how he’s gonna ‘splain it to parents of a 13/14 year old girl when a genetic male in his senior year comes into the locker room? It may not happen often; it may even happen seldomly.  But it happens.

So it’s probably gonna be a long few months – an eternity in politics.  Anything can happen in the general; he may win, he may not.

If he doesn’t, I’m betting it will be this tow truck that will be the one hooking him out of the corner office:

The Tow Truck

That’s right: get’er done, Mader!
